Commission
If you want me to write code for you, you can contact me on the about page. Keep in mind I will not always accept.
Most private or free software I will do the work for free. However the license on this code will be LGPL or GPL or some other copyleft license in these cases. This is to keep people who say it is free software, and then turn around and sell it. I take strong exception to this kind of deception. As it has happened before.
If you have plans to sell it, then obviously I will want to get payed. Terms are negotiable. But don’t expect to take me for a ride with “bulk discounting” or other such things. The more code I write, the more I expect to get payed. Simple as that.
You can have the code licensed however you please, I will impose no restriction on how you distribute it. After all, you payed for it, right?
Half or All of the payment will be expected prior to the submit of the code. If you cannot agree to that, I refuse. I apologize for such an aggressive term, but I have had to many people “take the code and run”, or expect to pay me after their application starts selling well, and it never does. I will only issue refunds if there has been a grievous misunderstanding on my part. This is left to my discretion if I have made such an error, or I have not actually started or done much work on it.
Moreover, do not blame me for the failure of your product. All commercial or payed for code is rigorously tested, unless directed otherwise (which would be crazy). I like a computer, will make what you want me to, no matter how stupid/useless/unfeasible it sounds. If writing something the way you want is impossible, I will tell you so. Whether this be impossible for me to write (which is rare), or impossible to write period (more often the case). I will refuse to work on or complete any project I have deemed impossible, as I would not be able to complete it.
In some rare cases, I will like a project so much, I will deny payment and write the code entirely for posting here on CSDGN. This code like all other code here will be free under a ZLIB License (unless otherwise stated). If you were wishing to integrate it into your IP and deny its use to competitors, tough cookies. Alternatively, just ask me not to. Being payed has a greater chance I will actually finish it (around 100% vs 40%)
